2010-02-22 Project presented at CeBIT in Hannover

The Stralsund Information Management Team of Stralsund University of Applied Sciences exhibits at the world's foremost tradeshow for the digital industry in Hannover - Germany. From the 2nd to the 6th of March 2010 the team also presents the BalticMuseums 2.0 project at its' stand. Meet the team in hall 9 at stand C09, the joint stand of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

2010-02-01 Project meeting in Kaliningrad ahead

End of February the project partners will meet in Kaliningrad. The Museum of the World Ocean will host this meeting. Final agreements on the Online Platform and individual workshops for the ticketing system will be in focus of the agenda.

2010-01-25 Advisory Board meeting in Stralsund

The first meeting of the German Advisory Board took place in Stralsund on the 19th of January. The members who work for touristic institutions in Northern Germany gave very valuable feedback to the Stralsund BalticMuseums team. The team presented the actual project achievements, especially for the online information portal and the ticketing system. The importance of long-term solutions and a substantial marketing was emphasised by the touristic experts. Critical aspects were discussed and additional perspectives e.g. for resellers encouraged. Additionally one possible solution for a multi-media visitor guidance system was demonstrated, generating directly numerous suggestions how to apply this to the museum partners.

2010-01-19 Online Platform discussed in Poland

Yesterday the scientific partners met in Szczecin to discuss the status of Component 3 - the Online Information Platform. The team from Stralsund University of Applied Sciences and their Polish counterparts of the University of Szczecin agreed on the content, the technical solutions and on a roadmap, how to proceed. In the last weeks the Szczecin team has put a great effort into the development of the design of the future joint portal of the oceanographic museums. The very emotional design enthused the project partners.



2009-12-08 Erasmus student presents his results

On the 3th of December, Prof. Klotz welcomed Prof. Kelemis and Prof. Karavaggelis from Greece at the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Together they reviewed the progress of the final thesis of Erasmus student Kostas Konstantinidis, which he is writing in Stralsund. The student from Greece gave a presentation showing the latest results of his work about RFID technology. The main outcomes of his project are the categorization of the RFID needs within the BalticMuseums 2.0 project and observations on the use of the RFID technology based on two members of the project. These results were discussed extensively.
